Anvor, has been featured by MULTOS, the international standard for secure smart card technology, in recognition of its approach to combining certified payment security with continuous health sensing in a single wearable form.
Starting From a Gap
The financial technology industry has long faced a tension: as payment methods become more convenient, security often becomes harder to preserve. Traditional physical cards are mature, but they leave friction on both the user and institutional side — easy to lose, inconvenient to carry, and difficult to extend with additional functionality. Wisecard's engineering team set out to close this gap, searching for a form that could meet the stringent security requirements banks and financial institutions demand, while making the act of paying nearly imperceptible.
A ring became the answer. Compared to wristbands, cards, or other wearable formats, a ring is discreet, always within reach, and difficult to separate from its rightful owner — qualities that align closely with what a financial-grade payment device requires: exclusivity and portability at once.
Payment: Security Architecture, Worn on a Finger
Anvor's built-in payment chip is certified to EMV Level 1 and Level 2, the standard security benchmark required by banks and card networks. Every transaction is processed through Wisecard's proprietary Cryptoken Tokenization Platform: the real card number never travels across the network. In its place, a dynamic, single-use token is generated, rendering it meaningless even if intercepted. This architecture supports in-store, online, and mobile transactions alike, and is compatible with major payment networks including Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, Verve, and AfriGo.
On the hardware side, Anvor uses 13.56MHz NFC technology, compatible directly with existing POS terminal infrastructure — financial institutions do not need to replace their acquiring hardware to deploy Anvor. Its digital security layer applies AES-256 encryption alongside dynamic transaction codes, ensuring each payment generates unique identification data.
Health: Continuous Sensing, Reported Daily
Beyond payment, Anvor continuously tracks heart rate, blood oxygen, temperature, sleep stages, and activity levels. This physiological data is processed by an onboard AI engine, generating a daily health report accessible through secure APIs.
For use cases in corporate wellness, insurance risk assessment, and care institutions, this kind of continuous, non-invasive data stream carries practical value — no separate testing process is required; the data simply arises from everyday wear.
Materials and Engineering, Built for Long-Term Wear
Anvor is constructed from medical-grade titanium, ceramic alloys, and hypoallergenic materials, all tested to ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards to ensure long-term wear does not cause skin irritation. The titanium version weighs approximately 6.8 grams; the polymer version, approximately 4.2 grams — light enough to go largely unnoticed during extended use.
On battery life, Anvor runs for seven consecutive days on a single charge. Charging uses magnetic contact points, preserving the device's IP68 water resistance rating — it remains functional even after 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters.
Deployment at Scale, and Partnership Models
Anvor has already been deployed at scale, with a single client rollout exceeding 500,000 devices — a result built on Wisecard's fifteen years of experience in payment technology.
Anvor offers multiple paths to deployment depending on partner type. Financial institutions can adopt a white-label program, operating Anvor under their own brand with full SDK and API documentation for integration into existing mobile banking systems. System integrators can build on Anvor's open hardware interface layer to accelerate regional deployment. Across both paths, partners receive ongoing technical support, including firmware updates, security patches, and certification renewals.
Certifications and Compliance
Anvor holds certifications for EMV Level 1 and Level 2, PCI DSS payment security standards, ISO 10993 biocompatibility, and FCC, CE, and RoHS electronics compliance standards, ensuring the product can operate within the payment systems and regulatory frameworks of major markets.
